RAY STUDIO filmed and supported the livestream of Bingsheng's Feast of Ideas in Guangzhou on 28 August 2026. Five cameras, one sound engineer, fifteen microphone systems and one vision mixer coordinated coverage, audio and real-time switching for a multi-person discussion.

Audio mixing, monitoring and camera feeds are coordinated in the live production area for quick responses to image and sound issues.

The 28 August setup: coordinated pictures, audio and live direction

A livestream needs more than cameras. Speakers in different positions must be visible and intelligible while feeds continuously reach the switching system. Five cameras covered the discussion and fifteen microphone systems captured participants, with dedicated audio and vision control.

This configuration suited this event's space and discussion format. Other events require plans based on venue, programme, participant count, platforms and deliverables.

How five cameras avoid redundant coverage

Camera roles should complement each other: spatial context, speakers, reactions and details. Fixed positions provide basic coverage while flexible positions follow people and changing conditions. Stable, distinct feeds let the vision mixer switch coherently between speakers and interactions.

Manage cameras, cables, monitors and crew routes without disrupting the event. Check composition, exposure, focus and signal stability on every feed before going live.

Why fifteen microphones need a dedicated sound engineer

Audio can affect a discussion more than pictures. Fifteen microphone systems require clear mapping, status monitoring and level management as speakers change. The engineer keeps the active speaker intelligible while controlling ambience, crosstalk and sudden level changes.

Check equipment, batteries, frequencies and microphone placement before the event, with plans for speaking order and spontaneous interaction. Clear, stable audio lets online viewers follow the discussion.

Flexible camera positions add expressions and on-site details to the available live coverage.

Turning multiple feeds into one coherent programme

The vision mixer watches all feeds, follows speakers and interactions and communicates with camera and sound operators. Switching too quickly interrupts viewing; holding too long misses reactions. Both programme knowledge and live judgement matter.
